La Grappe Numérique is a federation of local user groups and associations in the south-west of France.
In 2024, the BDX I/O conference created the “local communities” booth, inviting local user group organizers. At the time, I had just brought back the BordeauxKt user group. During this event, we discovered that Bordeaux had more than a dozen local communities that we didn't know about. During the following year, we organized multiple meetings during user group organizers to discuss our shared problems.
In 2025, we officially announced the creation of La Grappe Numérique, a federation of more than 30 local communities, with the goal of facilitating the exchange of knowledge. Our website contains the list of all member communities as well as the contact information of organizers and a shared calendar containing all events.
Organizers meet once every month to discuss future events and shared actions. For example, la Grappe takes part in interventions in universities to help students start their professional network.
